About the Person

Chris Ouimet, 59, is senior vice president of human resources (HR) for Motorola Solutions. He joined Motorola in 1979. Ouimet is responsible for all aspects of the company`s HR function including global support of business clients, talent acquisition, diversity and inclusion, rewards, talent management, succession planning, organizational design and change management.   As head of HR, he provided leadership during three milestone events in 2014: the company`s sale of its Enterprise business, involving 4,500 employees, as well as the significant organizational changes that followed at Motorola Solutions. In addition, he provided HR leadership as the company reduced its U.S. pension plan liability by $4.2 billion while preserving benefits for its retirees. During his career with Motorola, Ouimet has served in a variety of HR roles with increasing responsibility. Prior to his current role, he served as corporate vice president of HR for the Sales & Product Operations organization while also leading the client-facing HR teams supporting the Motorola businesses around the world. Before that, he led various HR teams in support of Motorola businesses, leading people integration activities for acquisitions and earlier in his career, led Motorola University East with a focus on product training and documentation. Ouimet has been a participant in the Chairman`s Leadership Forum, a select group of Motorola Solutions executives, since its inception in 2012. He is a member of the board of governors for American Health Policy Institute. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth.
