Founded in 1939 by five physician partners, Springfield Clinic was one of the first multi-specialty medical clinics to form in downstate Illinois. The concept became popular among patients and so too among other physicians in the area. In addition to regular specialty clinics in Springfield, Clinic providers actively participate in the robust and growing Specialty Outreach program. On a regular basis, specialists travel to more than 40 destinations throughout the region --- Springfield Clinic offices, other physician offices or to local hospitals --- providing the same high quality of care that patients can expect in their primary locations.
