About the Person

Catty Bennet Sattler is the Chief of Learning, Leadership and Career Development at United Nations Development Programme.   Catty Bennet Sattler joined United Nations Development Program in July 2013 as the Chief, Human Resources Strategy.   Catty is an experienced Human Resources professional with a strong background in both the United Nations system and the private sector. Her passion lies in leadership development and talent management and is known to strategically drive people excellence as a key lever in organizational performance.   Catty joined UNDP from Siemens AG, based in Germany and Australia, where she held several senior strategic positions in the area of corporate development, leadership excellence, talent management and Diversity & Inclusion. In particular, she was one of the key leaders in charge of the conceptual re-design and global implementation of the Siemens Leadership Framework. Catty also led the CEO initiated Top Talent 4Growth Program and was responsible for developing and driving Siemens Diversity & Inclusion Strategy globally.   Prior to joining Siemens, Catty spent 10 years working for the United Nations family in Europe, Africa, Asia and USA in various functions, ranging from war crimes tribunals and peacekeeping to human resources policy development and HR legal issues. She was also instrumental in establishing the UNICEF Ethics Office and served as Executive Officer to the UNICEF Deputy Executive Director.   An international Human Rights lawyer by training, Catty earned a Master’s degree in International Law at Lund University, Sweden and Maastricht University, The Netherlands, and holds a postgraduate degree in International Humanitarian Law from University of Cape Town, South Africa. She also holds a Certificate in Change Management from Cornell University, USA.   A native of Sweden, Catty lives with her husband and their two young children in New York.
