About the Person

A seasoned Human Resources business partner, Carolina King firmly believes that in order to have a high-performing team you must both nurture leadership and foster a strong culture. This philosophy has been the cornerstone of Carolina’s career and has made her an expert leader, manager and “must know” in her field.   Carolina joined the Lucas Group team in 2014 where she oversees the HR division of the firm for more than 425 associates nationwide. Adept at creating successful partnerships with business leaders, she has leveraged this to influence the development of business strategy, align organizational capabilities and reshape company culture thus achieving short- and long-term growth and financial objectives.   Carolina’s career history is varied, having worked in a number of industries and functions including sales, manufacturing, technology and services. She has provided expert organizational and leadership development for top global companies including CNN, AT&T and Siemens Energy & Automation, Inc. With a broad-based background in HR, Carolina has experience in several areas including establishing HR strategy development and execution, succession planning, change management, organizational development and performance improvement.   Throughout her career, Carolina has helped corporations develop and execute workforce planning strategies that resulted in greater operational efficiency and staff retention. Creative in her HR practice, Carolina has developed several human capital development models which increased management’s ability to lead high-performing teams as well as improved employee engagement and retention year over year.   Carolina is no stranger to Lucas Group, as this is her second tour with the firm. Lucas Group’s team-oriented culture of excellence brought her back to join the Executive Team, where she enjoys working with the industry’s top leaders to coach and mentor them and their employees to achieve and exceed goals and objectives. Carolina understands and appreciates the ever-growing strategic role that HR plays in business, and her goal is to help organizations prepare for these opportunities and challenges.   Bilingual in Spanish and English, Carolina was born in Central America and grew up in Texas. Having lived in Atlanta for more than 15 years, she now considers Georgia, home. When away from the office, she can typically be found on the football field with her son or at a swim meet with her daughter.   Carolina holds a BA in Liberal Arts and Business from the University of Texas at Austin. She is Myers-Briggs, Lominger and PDI360 certified.
