About the Person

The presidents of Columbia Gas local distribution companies in Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Virginia, along with the regulatory strategy team, report to Levander, whose responsibilities include coordinating regulatory and external activities across the six Columbia Gas states, as well leveraging regulatory best practices and policy initiatives for the organization.   Prior to taking his current role, Carl W. Levander served as president of Columbia Gas of Virginia (CGV) for more than nine years. He was responsible for ensuring CGV provided its customers with reliable, high-quality customer service and ensuring the company`s overall profitability through coordinating business strategies for Columbia, including developing and implementing regulatory strategies before the Virginia State Corporation Commission.   Levander began his career with Columbia Gas Transmission as an attorney in 1986, and then held several positions in the rate department. In 2004, Levander was named Vice President, Marketing & Regulatory Strategy for the NiSource Pipelines, with responsibility for all marketing, regulatory and strategic planning activities of the NiSource pipeline business unit.  He was named President of Columbia Gas of Virginia in 2006.   Levander holds a bachelor`s degree in political science from Wittenberg University and law degree from West Virginia University.
