The Georgia Municipal Association is making a difference in the lives of Georgians by helping city officials tackle the important work they were elected to do. A 63-member Board of Directors, composed of city officials, governs GMA, with day-to-day operations carried out by the Executive Director and a 85-person staff.

Canadian Union of Public Employees British Columbia is a provincial division of the Canadian Union of Public Employees, and acts as the political voice of CUPE locals in British Columbia. CUPE BC represents 85,000 workers in more than 170 local unions and across many different sectors. Nearly every community in the province has one or more CUPE locals. CUPE members in B.C. work in hundreds of occupations that help keep communities strong. We work for municipalities, school boards, libraries, colleges, universities, social service agencies, community health centres, private agencies, the ambulance service, public utilities, and other public institutions. CUPE is the largest labour union in B.C. and in Canada. We represent workers in municipalities, education, libraries, universities, colleges, social services, health care, public utilities, transportation, emergency services and airlines and around 630,000 members across Canada. A strong and democratic union, CUPE is committed to improving the quality of life for workers in Canada. Women and men working together to form local unions built CUPE. They did so to have a stronger voice – a collective voice – in their workplace and in society as a whole. Together we have won the right to negotiate our wages and working conditions; to stop arbitrary action by employers; and to speak out without fear of reprisal.
