Genesis HealthCare System was created in 1997 as an affiliation between Bethesda Care System and Good Samaritan Medical Center — two health care organizations that had served the community for more than 100 years each. We are a not-for-profit organization that operates two hospital sites — Genesis-Bethesda and Genesis-Good Samaritan — in Zanesville, Ohio, and several affiliated health care organizations. By combining the resources of the two organizations, we have been able to provide several new services for the community, including open-heart surgery, a Level II neonatal intermediate care unit and enhanced cancer services. Our primary service area is a six-county region of southeastern Ohio, including Muskingum, Morgan, Perry, Coshocton, Noble and Guernsey counties.
CareerSource Heartland is a not-for-profit corporation that operates as a demand-driven and business focused public-private partnership. Through oversight provided by the local elected officials from DeSoto, Hardee, and Highlands counties, our Board of Directors offer workforce development related growth opportunities to Business Customers and Job Seekers throughout our Tri-County service delivery area. As one of twenty-four Regional Workforce Boards in Florida, we oversee the workforce and talent development activities in the tri-county region, collaborating with numerous private and public sector organizations and businesses to enhance the local economy. Our Board has a diversified membership with a majority of the members from the private (business) sector. The Board also includes representatives from secondary and post-secondary education institutions, Economic Development commissions, and community based organizations.
