Winneshiek Medical Center in Decorah, Iowa is a charitable nonprofit community hospital and clinic serving northeast Iowa and southeast Minnesota since 1914. We are the second largest Critical Access Hospital in Iowa, and are owned by the citizens of Winneshiek County. With an active medical staff of over 30 Mayo Clinic Health System and Gundersen Health physicians, and clinics in Decorah, Ossian and Mabel, Minnesota, Winneshiek Medical Center is the largest and most specialized hospital in the region. Our hospital services include multi-specialty surgical services; MRI, CT Scan, x-ray and 3D mammography led by an on-site radiologist; rehabilitation and sports medicine clinics in Decorah, Calmar, Ossian and Spring Grove, MN, with outreach to area schools and nursing homes; diabetic education; home medical equipment; home health and hospice; a hospitalist program for 24-hour inpatient care; a Skilled Care program for skilled nursing care for rehabilitation and recovery; and obstetrics services provided by both area physician groups. Winneshiek Medical Center also provides urgent care, a 24/7 emergency room and ambulance service staffed by Mayo Clinic Health System physicians, specialized nursing staff and paramedics.
