Houston, Procyrion appoinnted TX-based Benjamin Hertzog as Chief Executive Officer

 

About the Company

Procyrion is developing the first catheter-deployed circulatory assist device intended for long-term use. The Procyrion device will be the first minimally invasive tool for cardiologists to treat over 1M NYHA Class III and early class IV heart failure (HF) patients in the US who have few therapeutic options. In partnership with Texas Heart Institute, Procyrion is currently conducting preclinical testing of the Procyrion device.

 

About the Person

Experienced start-up entrepreneur with a focus on medical devices, diagnostics and healthcare services. Managing Director of AlphaDev LLC; Vice President of BCM Technologies; McKinsey & Co. (Member of Pharmaceutical and Medical Products Practice); Ph.D. from Brown University’s Artificial Organs, Biomaterials, and Cellular Technology program; Previous corporate Board seats include Medical Metrics, Fairway Medical Technologies, Spectral Genomics (acquired by Perkin Elmer) and Kardia Therapeutics (founding president).
