About the Person
Barbara Daigle has resigned as the Associate Vice-President, Human Resources at the University of Saskatchewan. Throughout Barb’s 27+ year career as a Human Resources (HR) professional and leader, she has promoted a strategic approach to HR, which includes aligning people strategies with the organization’s strategic directions. Her approach recognizes that there is great risk to an organization if it fails to provide strong, principle-based leadership and positive work environments. The success of an organization, particularly one that is going through transformative change, occurs when employees are producing at their full potential by being healthy, well and committed to the work they are doing. Barb’s career in HR spans the public and private sector. She left a busy consulting practice in Alberta to return to the post-secondary field and the challenges of the associate vice-president position at the U of S, where she has been for the past 10 years. Prior to that, she was the Director of Organization Services in Human Resources at the University of Calgary. Barb continues to receive recognition and awards for leading change at a strategic level. She has an MBA and BComm from the University of Calgary and is a Certified Human Resources Professional.
