About the Person
Mr. Art Gilliland has been Chief Executive Officer of Skyport Systems Inc. since September 2015. Mr. Gilliland has 14 years` of leadership experience at top security companies to complement experienced networking and infrastructure team. He served as Senior Vice President and General Manager of enterprise security at Hewlett-Packard. He served as the Senior Vice President of Information Security Group at Symantec Corporation. Mr. Gilliland`s prior experience at Symantec includes leading product management and product marketing teams across several of the security and availability solutions. Mr. Gilliland joined Symantec in 2006 through the acquisition of IMlogic, the industry leader for instant messaging security and management. One of the original IMlogic team members in 2002, he served as the vice president of products and marketing where he led product management, strategic alliances and marketing demand generation, helping to grow IMlogic into the industry leader with more than 700 customers across 23 countries, before being acquired by Symantec. Prior to IMlogic, Mr. Gilliland served across several management, marketing and sales roles at Exchange Solutions Inc., a provider of software and operations for the design, delivery and management of customer and partner loyalty programs. He started his career as a consultant for Gemini Consulting where he specialized in innovation and technology strategy. Mr. Gilliland earned a bachelor`s degree in Economics from Carleton College and a Master’s of Business Administration from the Harvard Business School. He holds several key patents in security and is also a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
