About the Person
Antonia Porterfield, also known as Toni is Senior Vice President/Head of Human Resources at The Main Street America Group. She is responsible for the strategic direction and implementation of all human resources and corporate communications products and services throughout the organization, as well as overseeing the company`s administrative services unit. Toni joined Main Street America from Zurich North America in 2004 as vice president, human resources and was promoted to senior vice president in 2005. Toni`s background is very diverse and includes training, marketing, communications and human resources. Her broad experience includes management roles at Chrysler Motors, where she was responsible for field sales and marketing training. Toni began her insurance career in corporate training and development at The Travelers and The Maryland Insurance Group. She joined Zurich North America in 1992. During her 12-year tenure at Zurich, Toni held several senior management positions including vice president, marketing; senior vice president, corporate development; and senior vice president, human resources, organizational development and rewards. Toni is a member of the American Management Association, a member and National Education Honorary of Phi Delta Kappa, and a member and National Business Honorary of Beta Gamma Sigma. She currently serves on the board of directors of The Girl Scouts of Gateway Council (Northeast Florida Region) and the North Florida Land Trust. Additionally, Toni serves as a national judge for Enactus, a community of students, academic and business leaders committed to using the power of entrepreneurial action to transform lives and shape a better, more sustainable world. Toni was a member of the Leadership Jacksonville Class of 2007. Leadership Jacksonville develops youth and adult leaders to assume greater responsibility as community trustees who strive to improve the quality of life in Northeast Florida. Toni earned her bachelor`s degree and master`s degree in business administration from West Virginia University.
