Fontanez, a Bridgeport native, has spent the majority of her career as a local advocate and social worker, dealing with cases throughout Fairfield County. As a licensed clinical social worker, she is trained to understand mental health issues and to advocate for those classes of people who are unable to advocate for themselves — children, the mentally ill, and the elderly, among others.
