Launched in San Francisco in April 2016, Vote.org is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that uses technology to simplify political engagement, increase voter turnout, and strengthen American democracy. Vote.org believes Americans want to vote, and will vote in higher numbers and more consistently as voting becomes more convenient. To make this a reality, Vote.org identifies roadblocks to voting and aggressively works to clear them. Its innovative work includes building and maintaining the Vote.org website and a comprehensive toolset – including a voter registration tool, an absentee ballot tool, a voter registration status tool, and an election reminders tool – which is free and accessible to anyone. Vote.org also conducts proactive outreach to low-propensity voters, including young people and people of color, through a variety of innovative media campaigns. Vote.org has helped more than 13 million people cast ballots since launch.
Founded in 1946, what is now known as the Armstrong Group began life as Armstrong County Line Construction, contracting work for power and telephone utilities in Western Pennsylvania. In the 1950s we began to own and operate independent local exchange telephone companies. We expanded into the cable television industry in 1963. If your phone is lost or stolen, one call or visit to our website can freeze payment cards loaded onto your Wallet and, if your smartphone still has a wireless connection, shut down the Wallet. If your phone is found, another call or website visit turns the Wallet back on.
