Marine Well Containment Company (MWCC) is an independent company founded in 2010 to address the need for a deepwater well containment response capability in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico. When activated for an incident response, MWCC deploys in the deepwater U.S. Gulf of Mexico, with equipment designed to reach depths of up to 10,000 feet to contain and seal off a compromised well. The MWCC team engages in a rigorous ongoing training regime to maintain response readiness. To ensure they can scale to the needs of any incident, the organization is supported by a well-trained network of skilled contractors and reservists. With a goal of seamless and effective source control, MWCC is designed to integrate within the Incident Command System (ICS) structure of the Operator.
